BETHLEHEM, PA  –  A “tough test” would be an enormous understatement for what awaits the Boston University men’s soccer team this weekend. They will take on Lehigh University in Pennsylvania on Saturday evening.

The Mountain Hawks (6-2 overall, 1-0 in conference play) are on a five-match win streak, which includes a 1-0 victory over West Point in their opening Patriot League fixture. They are averaging almost two goals per match and have outshot their opponents 96-79, with 12 shots per game and a SOG percentage of 0.375. Over the course of their win streak, they have scored 11 goals while allowing just three. To top it off, Lehigh counts the current league leaders in both goals and assists among its players; junior Mark Forrest has six goals on the year — as well as four assists — while senior Doyle Tuvesson has five assists and two goals. All in all, BU would do extremely well to take points from this matchup.

The Terriers (2-6-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play) also came away victorious in their first Patriot League match of the season, earning a decisive 2-0 win over American with goals from Matt McDonnell and Eric Mubang.

Although recovery is well underway, BU has struggled offensively this season; they have scored five goals in nine matches, while allowing 16. Additionally, on the defensive end, the Terriers have committed a whopping 145 fouls—an average of 16 per match—and have received 23 yellow cards. Those numbers are all league highs.

On the bright side, BU has just about matched their opponents in shots (91-92) and shots per match (10.1-10.2). They will be led by senior and co-captain Adam Sheikali (1 goal, 1 assist), as well as midfielder Satchel Cortet (2 assists, 11 shots) and forward Matt McDonnell (1 goal, 14 shots).

Kickoff from Ulrich Sports Complex is set for 6 P.M.
