By: Dan Shulman
The Boston University Terriers were recently announced as a participant in the 2018 Friendship Four in Belfast on Thanksgiving Weekend next year. However, this coming November, the Terriers will be eating their turkey in New York City in preparation for Red Hot Hockey 2017.
Once again, it will be BU and Cornell taking part in the biennial game at Madison Square Garden. This fall will mark the sixth time the teams have met in NYC and the tenth anniversary of the November classic. On the line Thanksgiving weekend will be the coveted Kelly-Harkness Cup, which has been retained by BU since 2011.
The Terriers will welcome “Ice Hockey in Harlem” to Agganis Arena on Friday January 20 when BU hosts Maine. Last time BU went to New York, the team spent time skating and volunteering with the IHIH program at the, which included an appearance from Terrier-great Mike Eruzione.
Tickets and other information about Red Hot Hockey 2017 will be released closer to the event.
