By: Marisa Ingemi
With the season approaching only two months away, the Boston University men’s lacrosse team has named its captains for the 2017 season. This is the first time the Terriers will have a senior class of all players the program recruited on its own, and one of those seniors, Brian Badgett, along with senior Conor Okmin, will be captains this season.
“I’m excited that Brian and Conor will be our captains for the 2017 season,” head coach Ryan Polley said via press release. “They both have the respect of not only their peers but our staff as well, and I’m confident they will be excellent leaders both on and off the field.”
Both players were captains last season. They were elected captains via team vote this fall.
Badgett picked up 16 ground balls in 12 games with the Terriers last season and adding an assist as his lone point. The senior missed all of 2015 with injury. Okmin appeared in 11 contests and caused a turnover along with picking up four ground balls.
The BU senior class includes top midfielder Cal Dearth, faceoff specialist Sam Talkow, goaltender Christian Carson-Banister, and midfielder/attackman Adam Schaal.
