Men’s Hockey: LaCouvee Gets Start vs Harvard

By: Marisa Ingemi

When Boston University hits the ice on Tuesday night against Harvard, it will be Connor LaCouvee between the pipes. Head coach David Quinn confirmed on Monday night that the junior would play in favor of freshman Jake Oettinger, who gave up four goals on Saturday night to Connecticut.

LaCouvee has only one previous start this season, and that came on Friday night in the first game of the back to back against UConn. He allowed one goal in the Terriers’ 2-1 victory. Prior to that, his only appearance came in 4:12 of relief when Oettinger lost a skate blade at home against Northeastern.

Tuesday’s contest against the Crimson is BU’s final game before break, and they won’t return until December 2nd for a home and home series against Providence.

Prior to Saturday night, Oettinger had been undefeated on home ice and had been yet to allow a goal. LaCouvee last season for the Terriers posted a 2.92 goals against average last season when splitting duties with then senior Sean Maguire.
