This game marks the second of eight consecutive Hockey East games before seeing out-of-conference action against Harvard and Princeton at the end of November.

Despite receiving votes for the three weeks after the loss to Vermont in Burlington, Boston University is now on the outside looking in at the USCHO.com poll. Northeastern made their triumphant return, recieving four votes (12th).

These same two teams faced off a week ago at Matthews Arena in Northeastern’s Hockey East opener. Despite keeping it close in the first 40 minutes, too many penalties and an aggresive Northeastern forecheck kept Boston University from holding a lead.

Natazsa Tarnowski put up her second collegiate goal, and Mary Parker tallied her 49th for her 100th collegiate point. Erin O’Neil made 32 saves on 37 shots faced in the 6-2 loss.

Shelby Herrington (two goals, one assist) and Paige Savage (one goal, three assists) led the way offensively for the Huskies. Brittany Bugalski stopped 33 shots, including all 16 in the final frame.

Six goals is the most the Terriers have conceded all season, matching the total conceded in the previous eight periods and an overtime. In each of the Terriers’s three wins this season, they have scored the first goal.

Through six games, three Terriers are tied for first in the team scoring race: senior Samantha Sutherland (7-2–9), graduate student Mary Parker (6-3–9), and sophomore Sammy Davis (1-8–9). After Deziray De Sousa got an assist on Tarnowski’s goal last week, just two skaters — Natalie Flynn and Breanna Scarpaci — do not have a point yet this season.

After going zero-for-seven on the power play against Northeastern last time out, the BU power play has dropped to a 19.4 percent efficiency. The penalty kill went six-for-seven, improving to a 92.2 percent efficiency.

Junior forward Victoria Bach is one point away from her 90th collegiate point, senior defender Sarah Steele is one point away from 30 in her BU career. Senior forward Maddie Elia is one goal short of 40 for her collegiate career, while junior forward Rebecca Leslie is one tally shy of 30. Both O’Neil and Victoria Hanson are three wins away from 30 collegiate victories.

It will be a short stay in Boston for BU, as they will face-off against Boston College twice next weekend before the trek to Orono, Maine to face the Black Bears.
