Men’s Hockey: Terrier’s Ranked 4th in Preseason USCHO.com Poll
Boston University Men’s Ice Hockey will start the 2016/17 campaign ranked 4th overall in the USCHO.com Preseason Poll.
BU was placed much lower in the USA Today Poll, ranked 14th ahead of the upcoming season.
The Terriers are the highest ranked Hockey East team in the USCHO poll, with six teams from the conference put in the top 20. Boston College (5), UMass-Lowell (8), Notre Dame (9), Providence (10), and Northeastern (15) are also ranked in the poll.
The Terriers non-league schedule pits BU against stiff competition from around the country. Among the teams in BU’s out-of-conference schedule are Quinnipiac (2), Denver (3), Michigan (11), Harvard (12), and Yale (18).
In addition to be ranked fourth overall in the USCHO Preseason Poll, BU also received five first-place votes. Ultimately, the number one ranked team to start this season will be reigning National Champions North Dakota.
