Men’s Ice Hockey: Terriers Trounced by Riverhawks

The Boston University Terriers failed to complete the weekend sweep of UMass-Lowell, falling on Saturday night at Tsongas Arena, 6-3.

After Bobo Carpenter tied the game 1-1, BU couldn’t mount any momentum and quickly fell behind once again.

Lowell defenseman Dylan Zink scored a hat-trick for the Riverhawks, becoming the first Lowell defenseman to do so since 1996.

Zink’s third tally put Lowell up 3-1, chasing Maguire from the game.

Sophomore Connor LaCouvee assumed goaltending duties for BU, and allowed two goals on the first three shots he faced.

The Terrier defense had a tough time settling the game down. UMass-Lowell dictated the pace of the game, and continued their home dominance.

Oskar Andren and Brandon Fortunato each netted a goal, but it was too little too late for BU.

The Terriers can still earn a top four spot with a series sweep next weekend against New Hampshire.
