BU Names 2016 Hall of Fame Class

Boston University Athletics has named its 2016 hall of fame class, which includes six individuals, five athletes and a sports information director.

Jamie Haas- Softball

Haas is the career leader in stolen bases, hits, batting average (.363) and runs in the history of the BU softball program. She hit .404 in her freshman season of 1996 to lead the Terriers to an NCAA tournament berth. She collected three America East offensive player of the year awards.

Sarah Dalton- Lacrosse

Three-time IWLCA All-American Sarah Dalton is arguably the best women’s lacrosse player in the history of Boston University. She is the program’s all time leader in goals and points scored. Dalton was a part of a team that won four straight America East championships. Her 91 goals in 2009 were the most since 1989.

Mark Kimball- Track

Kimball is the only Terrier to ever qualify for the Cross Country Championships in the NCAA three times in a row. He also won three Greater Boston Championships.

Mark Seals- Football

Seals is third all-time in tackles with 378 and second with 21 interceptions in the history of the football program at Boston University. He won two All-Americans and was also a punt and kick returner for the duration of his BU career.

Florian Mennigan- Rowing

Mennigan is a three time world champion and an Olympic gold medalist. He is the first rower to make this hall of fame in the past 16 years. He was the team captain for Germany in the 2008 Olympics.

Ed Carpenter- SID

Carpenter worked at Boston University for 29 years as a sports information director. He was the primary contact for football and hockey. He also worked for tennis, crew, swimming & diving, and women’s soccer.
