North Dakota tops the poll unanimously this week after going 1-1-0 over the week against Nebraska-Omaha. The Fighting Hawks dropped the first game of the series in overtime before routing the Mavericks in the finale. Cam Johnson is the nation’s leading goaltender with a 1.284 GAA and a .949 SV%. Forward Nick Schmaltz is second in the NCAA with 24 assists. North Dakota continues to look strong and should bid for another National Championship this year.

Quinnipiac remains at number two after an idle weekend. The Bobcats will travel to Maine on Tuesday before hosting Rensselaer on Thursday. Led by goaltender Michael Garteig, who posts a 1.406 GAA and a .940 SV%, continues to lead the nation with 1.5 goals against per game. The Bobcats also boast one of the nation’s top five penalty kills at 88.1%. Unbeaten in ECAC play this season, the Bobcats look to be well on their way to a deep NCAA tournament run.

Providence comes in third this week following a series sweep on the road in Vermont. Providence continues to dominate in Hockey East play following a mishap against BC a week ago. Defenseman Jake Walman is third in the country with seven power play goals, and his lethal shot has given Providence success all year.

STAT OF THE WEEK:

With 13 goals this weekend, Michigan has now netted 102 goals in 21 games this year, averaging an NCAA-leading 4.86 goals per game. The all-time single-season goal scoring record at Michigan is 260, done in 1976-77.
