Top 3 Roundup

Boston College sits atop not only our poll but also every other major poll in women’s college hockey. They are being led by the reigning Patty Kazmaier trophy winner Alex Carpenter as well as Haley Skarupa, Katie Burt and a host of other Eagles. Besides the blemish-free record, the most impressive stat for BC has to be their goal differential which currently stands at +88 (115 GF, 27 GA).

Up until the beginning of December Wisconsin was #1 in most polls before their first loss and tie of the season came to North Dakota on the same weekend. It’s easy to see where their success has came from as 11 different Gophers have double-digit point totals while their net minder Ann-Renee Desbiens has a save percentage of .959 with only 14 goals allowed in 20 games played.

While they may not have had a clean sweep of the third spot, one loss Quinnipiac has been a force to be reckoned with during the first half of the season. After starting off the year 5-1-2, Quinnipiac is currently on a 15 game unbeaten streak stretching as far back as the beginning of November.
