By: WTBU Hockey Staff

UPDATE: According to USCHO, Greer has left Boston University to sign with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL.

UPDATE: The A.J. Greer situation in Boston may not be what is seems.

As reported from Guillaume Lapage of the Canadian Press, there were only discussions with his family and agent about making the moves to the Rouyn-Norada Huskies.

Roughly translated, Greer has denied rumors of him joining the QMJHL.

Jeff Cox of SB Nation also was tipped about Greer’s intentions.

As we have aggregated the reports thus far, it seems that there is no clear indication of Greer leaving the team, despite several news outlets reporting the news and the team itself welcoming his arrival to Canada.

ORIGINAL:

RDS in Canada has reported the Boston University forward A.J. Greer has left the team and the NCAA to play in the QMJHL with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

Greer, who had scored one goal and recorded four assists this season was, according to the RDS report, “dissatisfied with his use.” The sophomore forward is a prospect of the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche after being drafted in the second round of the 2015 entry draft. Two other Avs prospects play for the Huskies.

Further reports suggest Greer will be in Rouyn-Noranda as early as tomorrow night to meet his teammates. His addition will add more depth to the Huskies, who are looking to claim top honors in the QMJHL this season.

Other reports have stated that Boston University is not aware of this decision by Greer, however several players on the Huskies have tweeted welcomes to Greer.

A report on the Rouyn-Noranda website reads:

The Québecois power forward Anthony John Greer, who played at the Boston University will finish the season with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies .

An 11th round choice of the Huskies in 2013 , Greer, 19, measures 6’3″. He was selected in the second round ( 39E ) by the Colorado Avalanche draft pick in 2015 .

Greer will be in Rouyn-Noranda by the end of the week. It is too early to know whether he will be in uniform face the Val d’Or Foreurs.

Several Rouyn-Noranda players and fans have tweeted welcoming Greer to the team.
