Men’s Lacrosse: Terriers Announce 2016 Schedule

The Boston University Men’s Lacrosse team announced its 2016 regular season schedule on Monday afternoon. BU will have eight home games in total, and four out of the first five games will be at Nickerson Field to open the season. The Patriot League tournament will open on April 26th and run through May 1st. The Terriers will play one game after the tournament, hosting Duke on May 8th.

The schedule varies slightly from past seasons. While the Patriot League docket remains the same, and there is still the contests against Duke, Canisius, Harvard, and Providence, the Terriers will face Hartford, UMass Lowell, and High Point for the first time.

Last season the Terriers went 6-8 after starting the season 6-2. They defeated conference opponents Colgate, Lafayette, and Bucknell, and they also topped Canisius from this year’s schedule. BU lost to Providence, Harvard, and Duke last season.

Vermont and Mercer, whom the Terriers faced in each of the past two seasons, are not on this year’s schedule for the first time in BU’s division one history. Last season BU was one game away from being in the Patriot League tournament.
