Quinnipiac maintained its status as the top team in WTBU’s College Hockey Poll. The Bobcats extended their unbeaten streak to a nation-leading 13 games. The Bobcats, led by goaltender Michael Garteig, allowed three goals in as many games last week, including a scoreless tie on Saturday. Offensively, Quinnipiac is led by Tim Clifton with eight goals on the season, five of which came on the power play.

Boston College played just one game this weekend, routing UNH 6-3. BC leads the nation in goals per game. Averaging 4.364, as well as a nation’s best 1.182 goals against per game. Goalie Thatcher Demko is third in the nation with a .955 save percentage. Offensively, Colin White is tied for third in the country with 17 points on the season.

Providence College cracks the top three in the WTBU poll after staying undefeated with a weekend sweep of the Northeastern Huskies. The Friars have the country’s leading goal scorer in Jake Walman, who has scored nine goals and 17 points this year. The reigning National Champions have only had one real test this season, a series against BU. They will host Yale on Saturday, putting their undefeated record on the line.

OTHER NOTES

There were two scoreless ties this weekend, Yale and Cornell slugged it out on Friday before Quinnipiac and St. Lawrence stalemated the following night. It was the first scoreless tie in program history for the Saints, dating back more than 2,000 games.

Cornell held its opponents scoreless this weekend for the first time since December 2011.
