Chad Krys, Kieffer Bellows, Jake Oettinger and Clayton Keller have all signed their letters of intent to play their college hockey at Boston University.

All four players currently play for the United States U-18 Development team, and are expected to make immediate impacts upon their arrival to BU.

Oettinger, a goalie, will look to contend for starting goaltender next season, along with current sophomore Connor LaCouvee and current freshman Max Prawdzik. The 6-foot-3, 196 lb 16-year old led the Men’s U-18 World Championship team to a gold metal, and in three games with the U-18 team, is 3-0 with a .889 save percentage. I Oettinger starts, he would become the first American-born goalie to play a full game for BU since Brett Bennett in 2008.

The lone defenseman of the group, Krys, committed to Boston University in early August, and is one of the biggest standouts in the class. Krys’ father, Mark, played with the Terriers from 1987-1991, and captained the team in his senior year. He has 20 points this season so far.

Bellows and Keller currently headline the top forward line for the U-18 team. Keller, with a large hockey IQ and solid puck-handling ability, will be a playmaker for the Terriers at 5-foot-10 and 168 lbs. Keller has 23 points in 16 games with the U-18 team so far this season. Bellows comes armed with a heavy shot and the ability to get the puck onto his stick. Last season with the Sioux Falls Stampede, Bellows put up 33 goals and 52 points.
