BU Men’s Hockey Unveils Class of 2019

BOSTON — On Friday September 11th, the BU Men’s Ice Hockey Team introduced their class of 2019. Highlighted by two 2015 NHL draft picks, as well as highly touted 2016 draft prospects, this recruiting class of seven is set to fill the void left by the members of last year’s Frozen Four finalist team.

 

1            Max Prawdzik                                  Goaltender                      Andover, MA

  • 1.25 GAA and 0.944 SV% last season
  • New England Prep School Large Champion

2            Shane Switzer                                  Defenseman                      Bloomfield Hill, MI

Switzer

  • Last Program: Lloydminster Bobcats
  • One of the top players in the AJHL last season
  • Registered 41 points (11G, 30A) in 60 games
  • Helped Victory Hondar reach Tier I Midget National Championship Game

7            Charlie McAvoy                      Defenseman                      Long Beach, NY

McAvoy

  • Last Program: U.S. Under-18 Team
  • One of the Top Defensive Prospects in the World for the 2016 NHL Draft
  • Tallied 40 points (7G, 33A) in 60 games last season
  • Former New Jersey Rockets member

8            Ryan Cloonan                                  Forward                      East Longmeadow, MA

  • One of the top players in the USPHL for 2014-15
  • Tied for 5th in the USPHL with 65 points (20G, 45A) last season
  • Registered a league-leading 21 power play points last season

  • Son of former NHL Player Robert Carpenter
  • Tied for USHL lead in goals last season with 35
  • Posted 63 points last season, tied for 7th in USHL

18            Jordan Greenway                      Forward                      Canton, NY

  • Last Program: U.S. Under-18 Team
  • 2015 Second Round Draft Pick of the Minnesota Wild
  • Had 43 points last season (9G, 34A)
  • Played with Jack Eichel in the 2014 All-American Prospects Game

  • Last Program: Omaha Lancers
  • 2015 Second Round Draft Pick of the Boston Bruins
  • Top scorer for Omaha in 2014-15
  • Registered 53 points (15G, 38A) in just 50 games last season
