Three New Student Spotlight Videos!

BU URBAN trainees study urban environmental issues like air pollution, climate justice, and water quality, with the goal of finding innovative, interdisciplinary solutions that provide hope for the future of urban communities. We are thrilled to present three short videos created by EmVision Productions that highlight the work of URBAN trainees, how they are helping cities tackle environmental challenges, and how our program is supporting them along their academic and professional journeys.

The first two videos feature Beth Haley and Sean Mueller, PhD students in the Department of Environmental Health in BU’s School of Public Health (SPH). Click here for a feature article from SPH about BU URBAN that includes the videos and perspectives from BU URBAN Director Pam Templer, Associate Director Jon Levy, and alumnus Lindsey Butler.

The third video features Claudia Diezmartínez, a PhD student in the Department of Earth & Environment in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. To learn more about Claudia, check out this must-read Q&A on our website, written by Communications Assistant Grace Beery. Claudia will also be participating in a panel discussion titled, “Justice in Urban Climate Plans: How and Where Cities Are Integrating Equity and Climate” on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021, 12-1 pm ET, co-hosted by BU’s Initiative on Cities and Institute for Sustainable Energy. Learn more and register today!
