Interested in joining the BU URBAN Graduate Program in Urban Biogeoscience and Environmental Health?

BU URBAN accepts applications from students who are admitted to Boston University’s Biology, Earth & Environment, Environmental Health, Mathematics & Statistics, Computing & Data Sciences, and other department graduate programs.

 

 

Participation in BU URBAN is an exciting opportunity to benefit from expanded training and resources during your graduate work at Boston University. Trainees join BU URBAN from multiple participating departments across the university, creating a unique interdisciplinary community.

 

Prospective applicants to BU

You must first be accepted by a participating department in order to apply to BU URBAN. The following links will lead you to the application pages in each department. If you are interested in a department not listed below, please email the BU URBAN Program Manager at urban@bu.edu to discuss further.

 

 

Interest Form for MPH Students

For Master’s of Public Health (MPH) students joining the Boston University School of Public Health, please complete an interest form linked here at your earliest convenience!

 

 

Application for Fall 2026 Admission

The application for the Fall 2026 URBAN Cohort is now closed.  If you are interested in applying for the Fall 2027 Cohort, we hope to have the application up in December or January.

The application for BU URBAN includes:

  1. The BU URBAN Application Form.
  2. A CV or resume.
  3. A letter of support from an instructor, academic advisor, and/or supervisor. The letter should describe why they think you should participate in the program and summarize your strengths and weaknesses.
