Using the Resource Hub

This SIS Resource Hub provides instructional materials for MyBU Student, Boston University’s Student Information System. Below are some tips to help you navigate the new site.

New features to improve learner experience
  • NAVIGATION: top menu bar and homepage are organized by functional area.
    • Upon selecting, that functional page will open, listing the relevant processes with training available.
    • Functional pages include a ‘Featured Item’ in the sidebar to highlight a timely or updated process.
    • Clicking a process name will open that process webpage.
  • SEARCH: content is now presented on webpages, allowing for a more comprehensive search function.
    • Use the magnifying glass icon in the top menu bar to search.
  • TAGS: click on keywords to find related content.
    • An all-tags list is available as a sidebar on every functional page and process page (seen here on the right side of the page).
    • Tags associated to specific content are listed at the bottom of the process page.
    • Clicking on a tag displays all content with that tag and that page url can be copied and shared.

NOTE: with this initial launch, please be aware that some process pages will include all instructional content on the page and some process pages will include just the introductory content. For the latter type, the comprehensive instructions will continue to be accessed through the PDF file. We will continue to transition those to the full page format that presents the information directly on the page. Thank you for your patience.

Helpful features that have not changed
  • PDFS: some process pages present simplified or streamlined instructions. Comprehensive downloadable and printable PDF files are still available for all processes. These can be opened from the PDF icon on each process page.
    • Access to the existing PDF guides will continue – those links will remain.
  • ADDITIONAL FORMATS: some processes have multiple formats available (videos, quick reference cards, etc). Refer to the appropriate icons on each process page. The Glossary icon on this page is an example.
  • STUDENTS: materials that cover student activities are still available for staff and faculty; refer to the Student Processes menu item at the top of the website.
  • SIS UPDATES: the program team continues to work on stabilization and optimization projects. To check in on system improvements, known issues, and fixes, please refer to the SIS Updates page.
