Introduction

Enrollment Requirement Groups are created to add logic to who is able, and not able, to enroll in classes. Factors such as GPA, credits, course requirements, test requirements, and conditions can be leveraged when creating these groups.

Enrollment Requirement Groups can be applied at the Catalog level when the restrictions always apply to the course offering. BU does not intend to leverage the following upon go-live. Examples include:

  • Prerequisites (take X course before Y course)
  • Corequisites (must take X at the same time or prior to Y)
  • Anti-requisites (cannot take X if Y has already been completed)

Enrollment Requirement Groups can be applied at the section level via Reserve Capacities to limit by section or seats within a section. Examples:

  • One section of a course is reserved for students with Academic Level = Freshman. Other sections are available to all students.
  • One section of a course has some or all seats reserved for students in a particular major.
  • One section of a course is reserved for students in a particular major until 10 days prior to the start of the term. Then, the remaining seats are available to anyone.

Enrollment Requirement Groups can also be applied at the section level via Adjust Class Associations.
