BUMG Leave Policies
Medical campus faculty that are part of the BUMG are primarily covered by BUMG leave policies. If you are a clinical faculty member and are unsure if you are covered by BUMG policies you can contact the BU Human Resources Service Center: 617-353-2380, to determine your status, general HR email hr@bu.edu. Confirm you know whether your research space is BU or BMC. This is easy to check via the PI home institution search.

Applying for Leaves
- Sedgwick is the 3rd party Leaves Administator for Boston University: mySedgwick portal
- The mySedgwick portal allows faculty to submit a leaves claim electronically, check the status of their application, and chat with their claim examiner online.
- Department leaders will receive reports on the status of all employees on a leave.
- Employees can call Sedgwick to report a claim over the phone using interactive voice response technology.
- Employees can submit leave applications up to 60 days in advance of an anticipated leave.
