Emma is a MA candidate in International Affairs with a specialization in Diplomacy. She is also pursuing a graduate certificate in Asian Studies with the BU Center for the Study of Asia. Having regional focuses on East Asia and Southeast Europe, Emma has interned with the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Athens, Greece where she conducted in-depth research on China’s influence in East Mediterranean. She also interned with the Asia Society Policy Institute where she researched on a wide-range of issues related to security and diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific. Prior to Pardee, she worked as a journalist in a media company in the San Francisco Bay Area, California for several years, producing documentaries and TV shows on a variety of topics. Her current research interests include great power competition, Indo-Pacific, EU enlargement, the Balkans, and China’s global rising.
