Ziba Cranmer

Ziba Cranmer is the Founding Director of BU Spark!, an innovation and experiential learning lab based at BU’s Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences. Since 2017, Spark! student teams have completed over 1200 projects for civil society organizations, local government, and other partner organizations. Ziba is an innovation leader with a passion for technology and innovation in service of justice and the public interest. Prior to BU, Ziba led a national initiative supporting public sector innovators in cities across the United States to combat trafficking through technology and spent over 11 years working in the private sector for companies like Hilton, Disney, and Nike Inc. where she was a Global Portfolio Director in the Sustainable Business and Innovation Lab, an internal venture unit responsible for driving new business opportunities and social impact. Ziba sits on the steering committees of the Hariri Institute for Computing and Innovate@BU. In her personal time, she is on the board of My Life My Choice, and JP Progressives, and is an active member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Iranian American Council and the Boston Ward 19 Democratic Committee.
