Sung-Un Yang (PhD, University of Maryland, 2005) is the Harold Burson Endowed Chair in Public Relations and Department Chair at Boston University. His research examines how organizations’ prosocial and public-oriented actions influence how publics view, evaluate, and engage with them. His recent work also investigates the adoption of artificial intelligence in professional settings, with particular attention to the roles of leadership, communication, and organizational readiness. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Public Relations Research and, beginning in September 2026, will serve as a coeditor of the Journal of Communication. He has been recognized as a Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Most-Cited Scientist.
