Increasing Access, Decreasing Anxiety: A Pilot Randomized Trial of a One-Week Telehealth-Delivered Treatment Program for Adolescents
Researchers at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders at Boston University are conducting a study to evaluate the effectiveness of a 6-day intensive cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders in teens.
We want to figure out if intensive cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders in youth be delivered via telehealth as effectively as face-to-face in the clinic, in order to increase access to treatment for youth with anxiety. Youth with anxiety will receive either telehealth or clinic-based cognitive-behavioral therapy, and the results will be evaluated. The treatment will teach evidence-based strategies to adolescents and parents to overcome the symptoms of anxiety.
All research treatment and assessments are offered at no cost to eligible families.
Who may be eligible?
Adolescents (12-17 years of age) who meet criteria for any anxiety disorder may be eligible for
the treatment study.
