Social Science Writing Internship

The Social Science Writing Internship Program provides hands-on mentored writing experiences for students with a background in social science and interests in communication/dissemination and was launched by the Center for Innovation in Social Science at Boston University. It selects Boston University undergraduates in their last two years of training and matches them with a research institute on campus and a faculty mentor. Over the summer, writing interns draft, produce, and publish multimedia reports on the activities at their matched research institute. Interns have weekly 90-minute writing workshops with a writing-focused faculty member who coordinates their program. Past interns have produced book reviews, op-eds, research summaries, and other materials describing the research activities and people at the matched center. The intern continues in the academic year, helping to identify, pitch, and develop social science-focused stories for Boston University media.

BU-SHARP has partnered with the Social Science Writing Internship Program to fund at least one intern each summer to focus on AD/ADRD research and the substantive themes of BU-SHARP.
