Research Accelerator Meetings

About

BU-SHARP Research Accelerator Meetings are 60-minute monthly meetings that provide BU-SHARP community members (including Emerging Scholars Pilot Grant recipients) the opportunity to offer and receive constructive feedback on grant proposals, conference submissions, papers, and dissemination products from AD/ADRD research across the disciplines of demography, epidemiology, economics, and related fields. Investigators will have time to share their work, followed by a devoted discussion segment from the workshop participants, who will have also reviewed the presenter’s materials in advance. Meetings are conducted in a hybrid format to allow for in-person and remote participation. In bringing together researchers to provide formative, constructive feedback on AD/ADRD research, the seminar series seeks to advance interdisciplinary research agendas that meet the challenges identified in BU-SHARP’s overarching research themes.

External Participants

The audience for the Research Accelerator Meetings includes investigators studying (or interested in studying) AD/ADRD affiliated with BU-SHARP, partners at Boston University, or who are external researchers based in the United States interested in participating in the meetings and getting involved with BU-SHARP. At least 2 times a year, the series invites a researcher from outside of the BU-SHARP network to present to help grow the network and expose investigators to new topics and methods.
