Shalom Entner is a PhD candidate in the Finnerty lab of the Biology department, within the ecology, behavior, and evolution/marine biology group. Shalom is researching the tolerance and capability to withstand anthropogenic stressors by marine organisms. Specifically, she is investigating the impact of chemicals leached from polystyrene microplastics on Nematostella vectensis, a benthic marsh anemone. Shalom is interested in policy to reduce global marine plastic pollution, including remediation and reduction of entrance to the environment, as well as targeted science communication about plastic usage.
