Data collection built for fieldwork

AnthroCollect is a free, open-access data-collection app built specifically for anthropological fieldwork. Register participants, link them across surveys, and find them fast, powered by ODK-X

Some of AnthroCollect strengths:
- Phonetic search: Register participants once, then find them easily using fuzzy phonetic search — the app suggests the closest match even when you’re unsure of the spelling, and can verify identity with photo matching. Households link to individuals, and individuals link to one another, so your entire dataset stays connected, reducing data loss and saving hours of cleaning.
- Database ready: Built on ODK-X, all data are structured and analysis-ready out of the box, supporting everything from household surveys to detailed individual interviews.
- Field-ready: Built in close collaboration with local research teams, the app supports syncing to an external server for secure backups and simultaneous data collection by multiple researchers. Tested for over 2 years in remote field conditions.
- Open and collaborative: Create and customize your own forms using our step-by-step guide, or start with field-tested templates: individual, household, hut, kinship, marital history, and more. Also includes a pairwise ranking form that produces stable quantitative rankings from participant comparisons.
Built by fieldworkers, for fieldworkers. If you adapt AnthroCollect for your project, we’d love to hear about it.
