We want to thank those who have supported this project, including the initial conference events. We want to thank the School of Visual Arts, the School of Theatre, and the College of Fine Arts at Boston University for their on-going support.  The support of the Boston University Center for the Humanities and the Boston University Arts Initiative have also been fundamental. We have also been honored to collaborate on events with BU African Studies Center, Italian Heritage-BU, and City Planning and Urban Affairs. School of Visual Arts director Dana Clancy, School of Theatre director Susan Mickey, and College of Fine Arts dean Harvey Young, along with Arts Initiative director Ty Furman were key supporters of the conference. We have also received an endorsement from UNIMA-USA for the conference and support from Kathy Foley, president.

The original conference could not have been held without the efforts of Deborah Bell, Alexandra Simpson, Elsa Wiehe, and Paula Mans, as well as BU undergraduate interns Tengyao Zeng and Emely Torres Selmo. In addition to the original conference committee, we want to acknowledge Anna Paradise, recipient of a Boston University Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program grant. She has redesigned the site to support the ongoing project, archived the original conference materials for future access, and updated and added new content.

We thank our many participants and presenters, who generously shared their creative and scholarly work.

We also appreciate Joseph A. Amato’s gift, in support of the Sartori residency. For information on how to make a contribution, please contact wmmasks@bu.edu.
