Thank You and Goodbye, Evan!

As some of you may know, Evan Kuras who has been our Program Manager for the past 3 years completed his time with the URBAN team at the end of September. Since then, Evan has started as a full-time Evaluation Consultant with MXM Research Group, a consulting firm that advances social impact through evaluation, strategy, facilitation, and design. We are incredibly thankful for all he has done for URBAN and the impact he has left on our community. He has truly played an integral role in the success of the URBAN Program.

Above all the many different elements of his work at BU URBAN, Evan values the relationships that he has formed over his tenure. For the past three years, he has been more than just a Program Manager—he has been a constant cheerleader, listener, and sounding board for the entire team. When asked to identify the biggest motivator in his work, his answer was without hesitation: the trainees. He is inspired by seeing our students excel and advance in their careers by conducting research that matters and tackling issues of climate change, environmental health, and environmental injustices. In turn, we are so lucky that our trainees had someone like Evan to provide critical support, mentorship, and guidance through the challenging process of navigating a PhD program.

Once again, we would like to say a huge thank you to Evan. We will miss the familiar sight of Evan and Merry (Evan’s dog) around campus and being able to chat with him about all things life. Although we are sad to see him go, we cannot wait to see all the amazing things he will accomplish in his new role.
