The Material Robotics Lab participates in outreach events for high school students in the Greater Boston area through the Boston University Upward Bound Math and Science program, whose purpose is to prepare low-income and first-generation college bound students for success in higher education, and the Boston University AI4ALL, that promotes greater diversity and inclusion in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

The lab also participates in the BU Graduate Research Puppet Slam, an annual event to engage the public interest in research and STEM using different ways of communicating information to audiences through plays and arts-based research. In particular, we put together a robot puppet game show to explain the concept of Soft Robotics to young students.
