Acknowledgements

Many others lent their wings in order to see this initiative take flight. We owe a lot to their contributions, but hope this page is an honest beginning for all the credit they deserve.

Francis Antonelli

Our birdsong is possible thanks to Frank, and we infinitely appreciate the support he offered us and the confidence he instilled in us. He is our sound bird and we are so grateful for his time and effort, both inside and outside of his recording studio.

Farid ud-din Attar

We can confidently say that Attar is our favorite 12th-century Persian Sufi poet. He is our Simorgh without whom we would not have had the opportunity to satisfy the HUB requirements for digital and multi media expression.

Zachary Bos

We would like to thank Zak for his keen eye and expertise in design and layout. He is our go-to bird who we can always turn to for help in the eleventh hour.

Dick Davis

It is thanks to Dick Davis that we can have this website at all. Bringing The Conference of the BirdsĀ to an English audience has such incredible weight we cannot voice it. He is our inspiration bird.

Hannah Dion

We drew our inspiration from Hannah’s artistic rendition of the Simorgh, which looks over this project from the top of every page on our site. She generously lent us the image she drew of the Simorgh based on the illustration of “King Solomon’s Court,” attributed to Mirza Gholam, Mogul India, 1602-1603, The Walters Art Museum, Baltimore.

Daniel Rabinowitz

Since birds aren’t the best at using computers, we owe many thanks to Dan, our tech bird, for guiding us through our technological journey. He has taught us a lot about this site’s formatting, and fielded many chirping questions.

Danial Shariat

Danial has been our songbird, contributing far more than we can give him credit for. He is responsible for all of our original musical compositions, making him as versatile as the poetry we’ve brought to life. He has, in addition to his instruments, also gifted us his voice for the Simorgh’s final lines.

Peter Sis

The pacing of Peter Sis’ illustratedĀ The Conference of the BirdsĀ granted us many ideas for the format of our art posts. He inspired us to apply multimedia to the poetry in new and creative ways.
