Intensive Treatments
For the past 20 years, CARD have provided intensive treatment for panic disorder and specific phobias for adolescents. The intensive treatment includes 5 to 7 days of 2-6 hour individual sessions. Such treatment consists of education about the nature of anxiety and fear, identifying and restructuring anxiety-provoking maladaptive thoughts, and reversing anxiety-driven avoidance, including exposures to anxiety-provoking situations that are objectively safe. The success of this treatment has been shown through numerous research studies.
Clinicians in the Child and Adolescent Program at CARD are available to provide special program services, including:
- One Week Intensive Treatment Program for Adolescents with Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia
- One Week Intensive Treatment Program for Children and Adolescents with Specific Phobias
- Brave Bunch Selective Mutism One Week Intensive Group Program
