About Us

The Mission of BUCC is to spread awareness of the sport of curling to the Boston University community and to give all interested full-time students the opportunity to learn how to curl.

We are dedicated to teaching its members the art of curling with weekly sessions at a local ice rink–Broomstones Curling Club. Prior experience in the sport of curling is not needed. It is our goal to teach you the fundamentals of the sport of curling – so come prepared to learn and have a blast!

We also compete against other colleges in universities in competitions called bonspiels, which is curling lingo for a tournament. We typically compete in 2-3 bonspiels per semester and host an event at Broomstones each December.

If we accumulate enough ‘merit points’ through bonspiels and head to head competitions, we also will compete in the USA College Curling Nationals event, to be held in Blaine,  Minnesota in March 2014. In 2013, BUCC captured fourth in the Nationals event in Duluth, Minnesota.
