Cortney Winkle-Miller, PhD

Research Project Manager

Dr. Winkle-Miller received her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Political Science from U.C. Davis in 2008 and went on to complete her doctoral degree in Neuroscience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015. Dr. Winkle has over a decade of experience on a diverse array of projects in research laboratories at the University of North Carolina, the National Institutes of Health, Stanford Medical Center, and U.C. Davis. She has authored and co-authored multiple scientific publications and grants, and presented her research at international conferences.

In addition to conducting research in areas ranging from plant biology to primates, she most recently spent time as a project manager for pharmaceutical industry clinical trials, ensuring that clinical sites were well-prepared and clinical data surveillance programs maintained data integrity and regulatory compliance. Dr. Winkle is a committed community volunteer, dedicating her spare time to the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association which seeks to address women’s issues and gender parity in the healthcare industry, and the Trustees of the Reservation, a nonprofit conservation organization that preserves land, nature, and historical places in Massachusetts.

Dr. Winkle believes that access to adequate healthcare is a basic human right and is proud to provide project management support to TRIP: Translating Research into Practice, an implementation project to address breast cancer disparities in Boston.
