Kate Stern

Kate Stern is an independent art curator based in Los Angeles. Her curatorial projects range from large-scale public art exhibitions, most recently for the cities of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, museum exhibitions, which include the exhibition, FROSTIG AT LARGE which took up two floors at The Museum of Art and History (MOAH) in Lancaster, CA, five exhibitions at the Zimmer Children’s Museum in Los Angeles and most recently, DRESS REHEARSAL at the Oceanside Museum of Art in Oceanside, CA. Kate is the curator of the renowned Frostig Collection where well-known artists made small sculptures and works on paper which were then produced and sold in limited editions to raise money for a social skills program for children with high-functioning Autism and learning disabilities. Some of the Frostig Collection artists include: Nancy Rubins, Chris Burden, Robert Graham, Frank Gehry, Larry Bell, Ed Moses, Lita Alburquerque among others.

In 2019, Kate launched her TAKE ME TO THE ART tours, leading two exclusive small group arts and culture tours to Cuba with future tours planned for Amsterdam and the Netherlands (an Art and Garden tour), Marfa Texas, Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Hudson River Valley in upstate New York. For the last year and a half during all things Covid, Kate managed to stay busy curating several online exhibitions plus three in-person exhibitions at the bG gallery in Santa Monica, CA, which included Melissa Meier’s solo exhibition: Laced, Skins, Masks.
