Sarah Kanee is a PhD student in Earth & Environment at Boston University, working in the Ecological Forecasting Lab, where her research focus is on agricultural systems. She is interested in regenerative systems thinking and in understanding the interconnectedness of the crises we face today. Prior to BU, she was a geochemist at NASA and later worked at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, where she led satellite-based crop monitoring in Myanmar to support food security in the context of worsening climate extremes and political instability. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time outside and exploring local parks with her toddler.
