Quinton Zondervan

Quinton Zondervan is a tech entrepreneur, non-profit leader and community activist currently serving his second term on the Cambridge City Council. 

An environmentalist since his undergraduate days, Quinton is passionate about protecting our natural environment and increasing our sustainability through systemic transformation. His main priorities on the Council are affordable housing, sustainable transportation and taking action on climate change.

Over the years, Quinton has put his passion to work for the community, serving on various committees, task forces and non-profit boards. For nearly a decade, Quinton served as a member of the Climate Protection Action Committee (CPAC), including three years as chair (2012-14). CPAC is a City Manager appointed advisory committee of stakeholders advising the city on climate change action, including mitigation and adaptation responses. In 2013, he co-authored the Net Zero zoning petition that lead to the city’s groundbreaking Net Zero Action Plan adopted in 2015 to get Cambridge’s climate change causing emissions from buildings down to zero.

From 2011 through 2017, Quinton served as president and board chair of Green Cambridge, Inc. a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to taking action on climate change and enhancing Cambridge’s sustainability. He remains on the board of Green Cambridge. In 2013, he co-founded the Climate Action Business Association in Boston and currently serves as its president and board chair.

Before joining the council, Quinton worked professionally as a software engineer and later as an entrepreneur. He has helped start several companies in software, biotech and cleantech, and most recently co-founded a healthcare IT company, eCareVault, which helps families and professionals coordinate care for special needs children.
