Niouma Semega is an incoming PhD student in the Environmental Health Program. She recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Global Public Health/Sociology at New York University and is looking forward to continuing her higher education at Boston University. She previously did research EPA monitors and if there is a disparity amongst where they are placed using spatial temporal heterogeneity and much more. She hopes to continue innovative application of geospatial analysis and biostatistics methods to address racial disparities in environmental health. In her free time she is the CEO & founder of a nonprofit called SemegaChange that empowers BIPOC women in STEM, likes to cook, enjoy nature, play sports, crotchet and binge watch reality TV shows!
