Kaili (Kelly) Shi is a Ph.D. student in the Mathematics and Statistics Department. She is from Suzhou, the garden city of China. Kelly received her Bachelor’s degree from HKUST, majoring in Mathematics and Economics, and Master’s degree in Mathematical Finance from BU.

Her research interests lie in machine learning and high-dimensional statistics, with current projects focused on identifying stages and biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease. She is also exploring the use of transfer learning on time-series data to advance precision medicine.

Kelly is an avid traveler—when she’s not working, there’s a good chance she’s hopped on a plane and disappeared to the other side of the earth.
