Dr. Stowell is a Research Scientist in the Center for Climate and Health at the Boston University School of Public Health. She utilizes spatial and epidemiologic methods to examine the adverse effects of climate change on human health. Her continuing research is focused on expanding our understanding of the health impacts of climate-related exposures on vulnerable populations. Her research interests include the effects of extreme heat, prescribed fire, and wildfire smoke exposure on pregnancy complications, birth outcomes, and children.
