Biology

Jenna Sorenson is a master’s student in the Biology department. Her research interests include how generalist corals are able to occupy diverse habitats, such as reefs and mangroves, and the role they play in the future of coral species. Jenna’s focus in the Finnerty Lab is understanding the effects of coral-sponge interactions on the microbiome, which may play a part in their resilience. She hopes to leverage this knowledge to inform how we can better protect reefs and coastal area biodiversity.
