Cat Hauser is Ph.D. student in the Kaufman-Deyle Integrated Systems Ecology Lab. She is working toward becoming a quantitative marine ecologist by studying how certain species of coral have thrived or suffered over long term coral restoration projects. She is also investigating the environmental factors that affect how these corals grow and form under different and changing conditions. She does this work by digging into long term data sets, creating quantitive models, and collecting data in the field as a scientific diver. When not at the computer or underwater, she enjoys road biking, hiking, and walking around bookstores.
