Ally Swank is a Ph.D. student in the Biology Department interested in population genomics and evolution of corals. They earned their B.S. from Ball State University in Indiana and completed their M.S. at Auburn University in Alabama, where they evaluated behavior and gene expression of the brains of damselfish in degraded vs. healthy coral reef habitats. During their Ph.D. in the Davies Lab, they are excited to explore divergence of coral populations along urban and environmental gradients throughout the Caribbean. When they aren’t in the lab, Ally enjoys climbing, hiking, and snorkeling!
