Co-President: Daniel Milbrandt, MCP
Daniel R. Milbrandt is a second-year Master of City Planning and Applied Sustainability certificate student. He graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Economics and a minor in English with a focus on City Learning. Prof. Jerry Herron sparked Dan’s interest in the City and how it can drive systemic change at the local level, advancing equity and sustainability. Dan moved to Boston on Martin Luther King Day 2010, in the middle of a snowstorm on the eve of Scott Brown’s election (certainly not the most auspicious arrival). Through a love of riding a bike and a strong dislike of getting dancaked by cars, he became involved with the Boston Cyclist Union, MassBike, and Liveable Streets. That advocacy sparked a desire to do more than advocacy on the side and to work during the day, which led him to the Met College at Boston University. Dan hopes to develop new planning skills and hone soft skills to become an effective planner with a passion for community and transportation planning. Coming soon to a city near you!
