Troubleshooting
This page is where we will track any known issues and their statuses. If you need to report anything, please submit a ticket to ithelp@bu.edu.
In some cases subplans are missing from student records.
- Subplans are concentrations or tracks in MyBU Student and there are some that did not convert correctly.
- We are working to correct as quickly as possible but this will not impact registration.
Students may get an error when putting courses with topics or multiple components in the Schedule Builder or Shopping Cart
-
We have identified the issue with multiple components in courses in COM, ENG and KHC
- Course topics are missing from courses, causing an error (for example, writing courses)
We are working to fix these as quickly as possible
Students from previous semesters who are not eligible to register are in MyBU Student.
- Students who have not enrolled in many terms will continue to have open CPP stacks until our enrollment conversion at D3. Following this conversion, we will deactivate all CPP stacks that have no recent enrollment, according to University Policy.
- Students who deferred in previous cycles and will be matriculating in MyBU Student as undergraduate students will have a WADM row added to their CPP stack by Admissions, then subsequently admitted for the Fall 2024 term. This record will be used to term activate these students.
- Graduate, Law, Medical, and Dental deferral students are still being investigated, with details to follow.
The Workflow form does not include a way to drop a concentration or minor.
- This was missed on the Workflow form – we will add it but, in the meantime, please use the Service Now form.
The Class Search function is not showing the instructor's display name.
- Personal Email must be updated in order for display name to show in MyBU student.. go to bu.edu/myidentity to update.
Duplicate Program/Plan information, this will not impact registration.
- This will be resolved when we convert enrollment history at the end of May.
Certificate program completion not visible in MyBU Student.
- Students pursuing certificates only (i.e. not concurrently pursuing a degree program at BU) will appear as non-degree students in MyBU Student.
- Specific certificate information (including status) will be converted into the Milestone component of MyBU Student in late May.
No Record/Term Activation in MyBU Student
- Currently MyBU Student includes students who are eligible for fall registration. Students who are graduating in May or are not currently enrolled will not have a record and will continue to use the Student Link.
- If you are a current Boston University student, or a staff member working with a student and believe that you/they are eligible for fall 2024 enrollment, please open a ticket.
We will update MyBU Student as students become eligible to register. At our third launch at the end of May, all students will be in the new SIS
Unexpected Active Program Plan Stacks
- Academic history has been converted to MyBU Student, including past non-degree enrollment. These non-degree “program plan stacks” will appear “Active” but you will not be able to register in them. Your will register to your primary program plan stack.
These will remain active until additional student details are added at our third launch at the end of May
Student Group for Academic Level Missing
- In this launch, Student Groups were used to designate academic level (U1, U2, G1, G2 etc.) to support the Term Activation and Enrollment Appointment processes – not all academic levels were necessary, so some may be blank.
The Links continue to be the source of truth for a student’s academic level until late May.
Missing Career Program Plan Information | Examples: Missing Plan (Major or Minor), Missing Subplan (concentrations, tracks)
- If you are a current Boston University student, and are not graduating in May, submit a HelpDesk ticket to generate your student degree information
Students who have been identified will have their full program history converted into MyBU Student as soon as possible
