Identity & Access Management Directory Modernization Release 1 is Live!

We are excited to announce that Release 1 of our Identity Access and Management Directory Modernization project has launched!

What has changed?

• The technology behind the assignment of BUID Numbers, resulting in some changes to how Duplicate IDs are resolved.
• The Online Directory and Change Your Entry, where Students, Faculty and Staff can query, view, and update some elements of their identity.  Changes include:
  • How directory entries are displayed:
    • “Display Name” will replace the “nickname” option to display an alternate name in the BU Online Directory
    • Multiple positions for Faculty and staff will now be displayed appropriately
  • Individuals can provide personal e-mail addresses to help protect and resolve issues with their identity records.
  • Enhance Display Name, enabling the update of first, middle and last name separately. The deployment of this new name field is an important first step in enabling use of BU community members’ chosen name across BU information systems and services.
