One-Pager: Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Are Vital for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

This one-pager shows how many people used home and community-based services (HCBS) during 2022. People with IDD have needs beyond what traditional healthcare can provide. HCBS support independence, helping families, and keeping people connected to their communities. We found that more than two thirds (68.3%) used any HCBS, with the most common being home-based services (38.0%), case management (37.9%), and non-medical transportation (19.8%).
