At The Pardee Atlas Journal of Global Affairs, we aim to foster dynamic conversations on global affairs by providing a platform for students to engage in the publication process. This includes reviewing papers for publication, recording podcast episodes, and hosting our annual graduate research conference.
We are looking for additional Pardee graduate students to support The Atlas’s mission.

Editorial Board Member
Financial Chair*
- Manage Atlas financial accounts, including maintaining a balanced financial system.
- Budget for events through careful planning and execution of financial resources.
- Maintain contact with Pardee centers for potential sponsorship for the Conference.
- Review abstracts as needed for the Conference
- Support for outreach and events
- Support for editing tasks as needed
- Provide other administrative and logistical support as needed
*Will work as part of the core Atlas team and help plan the Conference
Managing Editor*
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization and editing
- Supervises the editing aspects of the Atlas and Suggests content ideas, initiatives, and strategies.
- Will serve as the back up for the Editor-in-Chief.
- Communicates with the Editor-in-Chief.
- Review submissions to the Conference and collaborate with Chairs and Editorial Board Members to narrow down presenters
*Will work as part of the core Atlas team and help plan the Conference
Secretary*
- Take minutes during meetings.
- Manage internal and external communications and Atlas email
- Support internal and external outreach and events.
- Support editing tasks as needed.
- Provide other administrative and logistic support as needed.

Editing Staff
Copy Editor
- Review and revise submitted manuscripts, policy papers, working papers, and any content deemed worthy of publication for accuracy and quality, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax
- Ensure that content adheres to the in-house style guide, including content structure and submission format
- Communicate and collaborate with the editing team to ensure that content is published promptly
- Support for outreach and events
- Provide assistance on additional tasks as needed by the Atlas team
Multimedia Editor (Social media)*
- Manage Atlas social media account (IG, Facebook, Twitter)
- Draft posters for events (including the Conference), request for submissions, and additional Atlas initiatives
- Collaborate with Website editor for outreach
- Support outreach activities and event promotions on the Atlas social media platforms.
- Provide assistance on additional tasks as needed by the Atlas team
*Will work as part of the core Atlas team and help plan the Conference
Multimedia Editor (Website)*
- Manage the Pardee Atlas website page through WordPress.
- Upload submissions to the website and make timely updates as needed
- Draft web content for events (including the Conference), request for submissions, and additional Atlas initiatives
- Collaborate with Social Media Editor for outreach
- Provide assistance on additional tasks as needed by the Atlas team
- Prior experience with WordPress is preferred but not required
*Will work as part of the core Atlas team and help plan the Conference
Atlas Conference
Outreach/Logistical Officer
- Coordinate with the Conference Chair and key Atlas stakeholders for outreach to universities around the Boston/Cambridge area (Harvard, Tufts, Northeastern, etc.)
- Manage Conference-related communications
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders within and outside of BU
- Review abstracts and Conference applications
- Provide other administrative and logistical support as needed
Atlas Podcast
Podcast Lead/ Coordinator
- Coordinate with the Podcast team to develop episode ideas, concepts, interview questions, and advertising materials
- Outreach to potential podcast guests and encourage them to appear on the show
- Manage Podcast-affiliated communications
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders within and outside of BU
- Provide other administrative and logistical support as needed
Podcast Host
- Must be comfortable interviewing guests and speaking clearly and confidently
- Provide other administrative and logistical support as needed
Podcast Editor
- Must be familiar with or willing to learn podcast editing systems of your choosing
- Coordinate with team to provide adequate podcast equipment
- Provide other administrative and logistical support as needed
All team members are responsible for ensuring the quality of material submitted to The Pardee Atlas, promoting The Pardee Atlas website, social media, and subsequent publications, and maintaining the integrity of the organization.
