Amelia Bailey

Amelia Bailey is an MPH student from University of Massachusetts Amherst. In this project, Amelia helps to improve health equity by linking people with opioid use disorder to life-saving treatment options. The population interacting with the program are people who are court-involved, meaning successful completion of treatment could also impact their likelihood of jail time and recidivism. Overall, the aim of the program is to meet people with opioid use disorder where they are at and immediately link them with treatment of their choosing. Not only are people who use drugs marginalized, but the city of Holyoke also has low income rates and a high Latinx population; these identities put this population at risk for worsened health outcomes.
